Research-led AI governance

Measure the configuration. Govern the outcome.

An AI tool changes. Instructions fall behind. An approved fix never reaches the people doing the work. Results start to drift.

Configuration Capital helps you understand where the setup and the work have stopped matching, what needs to change, and whether that change reaches practice.

Start with a First Look conversation, or go directly to the service you need. We agree the scope, responsibilities, schedule, and any fees before work begins.

Practical services

Start with what you’re seeing.

You do not need to know which service you need. Start with the problem, or go directly to the work you already know needs doing.

Six ways to begin, not six required stages.

01 / ConfigCap First Look

Something has changed. Where do you start?

Outputs are becoming inconsistent. Teams are following different instructions. The same problem returns after a fix. Tell us what you are seeing. We help clarify the issue and whether a closer look at how your AI-supported work is configured is the right next step.

What you leave with: A clearer problem statement and a recommended next step.

02 / Configuration Capital Baseline

See how the work is actually configured.

Understand the people, AI tools, information, permissions, and decisions behind one workflow. Compare how the work is intended to happen with what happens in practice, and identify where the arrangement needs attention.

What you receive: A workflow and responsibility map, evidence-linked findings, and prioritized actions.

03 / ConfigCap IntoUse

Make the approved change real.

A correction is not complete because a document was updated. Put the agreed change into the affected workflow and check whether the people and systems doing the work actually use it.

What you receive: An implementation record, checks on actual use, and clearly assigned follow-up actions.

04 / ConfigCap KnowCarry

Keep the knowledge when the people or project change.

Important knowledge can sit in someone’s memory, an old conversation, or a file nobody knows to open. Bring the essential instructions, decisions, and context together, then rehearse the handoff with the people who will use them.

What you receive: A usable knowledge inventory, current instructions, and a rehearsed handoff.

05 / ConfigCap SwitchReady

Know what a switch will actually involve.

Before changing an AI tool or supplier, understand what depends on it. Examine what can transfer, what needs rebuilding, and what must be recoverable. Rehearse the transition before relying on it.

What you receive: A dependency checklist, transfer and restoration findings, and actions to address the gaps.

06 / ConfigCap Assurance

Keep the configuration current.

People, tools, information, and responsibilities continue to change. Review the agreed parts of your operation at defined intervals, track unresolved issues, and keep the records and follow-through current.

What you receive: Scheduled findings, current records, and named responsibilities for the next actions.

First Look helps clarify the problem and whether ConfigCap is the right starting point. Baseline is the scoped examination of how the work is actually configured.

First Look is an initial problem-framing conversation. The other five offerings are scoped professional services. Availability, scope, responsibilities, schedule, and any fees are agreed before work begins. Ongoing review follows an agreed cadence; it is not a promise of continuous monitoring or unlimited support.

Start with one workflow. Leave with a usable record.

01

Define the problem.

Choose one process, change, handoff or supplier decision. Agree what needs to be understood and who can authorize the work.

02

Check how the work actually happens.

Review the relevant people, systems, information, permissions and decision points. Separate verified findings from missing information.

03

Carry out the agreed work.

Complete the assessment, support the approved change, prepare the handoff or rehearse the supplier transition within the agreed scope.

04

Check the result and hand it over.

Explain what was checked, what remains unresolved, who owns the next actions and what needs to stay current.

A report is useful when it changes what happens next.

We connect findings to responsible people, affected work and observable results. An updated document is not the same as an implemented correction. A saved archive is not the same as a usable handoff. A successful export is not the same as a successful restoration.

Our engagements keep those differences visible, including the time and effort required. Where a simpler process meets the need, we recommend the simpler process.

Research behind the work.

Our work is grounded in research into how people, AI systems, information, and decision-making responsibilities interact over time. That research shapes the questions we ask, the evidence we examine, and how we check whether a change has reached the work.

Our services are scoped professional engagements. The supporting ConfigCap software architecture is described separately; an inquiry does not require a client-platform account.
